I first saw MORE, Mark Osborne’s brilliant animated short, back in 2000. I was living in St. Petersburg, Florida and dating a woman 15 years my senior who was much smarter than me and had better taste. I’m quite sure she still is and still does.
The list of things, in addition to Osborne’s MORE, that wouldn’t have entered my consciousness had it not been for her is expansive. Some highlights include Built To Spill, Nick Hornby, political geography, Thai food, and tons of avant-garde jazz that I never enjoyed but really appreciate having heard. There’s a lot more. More than she’ll ever know. She’s one in a million.
