I don’t chide Barack on tactics very much in this space, because I can’t imagine the balancing act required to run for any public office, never-mind POTUS. But the following reminded me of this clip. Via MY:
At the Raleigh Times bar in downtown Raleigh yesterday, Mr Obama arrived in the late afternoon with his wife Michelle only to find himself momentarily beerless.
“Where’s my beer?” he asked, loud enough for the reporters to hear.
“PBR,” he said, choosing Pabst Blue Ribbon, an inexpensive lager, before working the crowd. [Telegraph]
Ugh. Now, John McCain’s no Rob Ritchie, but he is a panderer, a reactionary jingoist, and an across-the-board lightweight, as a cursory look at his economic plan, his health-care plan, and his war plan will clearly indicate. And that’s exactly how Barack should treat him.
You’re an intellectual and moral heavyweight, B.O. Drop the act, take off the bowling shoes, put down the P.B.R.
