Homage to a Diarchal Hypocoristic
I don’t know why it took 3 years for Robyn’s album to come out here. Better late than never. Teddybears guitarist Klas Åhlund produced most of it with help from The Knife and Timbaland.
Here she is with the Teddybears on Letterman the other night performing their “Cobrastyle”. (Is it still called a cover if the band backing you up is the band that wrote the song? Unclear.)
I’m throwing this up in support of my new favorite nomenclature, what I’m referring to, erroneously and only because it’s the fanciest sounding thing I could come up with, as a diarchal hypocoristic (an intimate lesser form of a given name shared mutually between two individuals and used only by each in reference to the other). That being, in this case, Bom.
It’s not quite diarchal, nor is it actually an hypocoristic, and I can’t remember exactly where it originally comes from, because I’d had several drinks at that point; nevertheless, it sure is adorable when they do it.
